Special features: The GlenAllachie 11 Year Marsala Wood Finish matured for over eight years in American oak barrels. This was followed by a finishing period of about 42 months in special Marsala barrels that previously contained Sicilian sweet wine. This cask maturation allows the whisky to develop fruity sweetness and a subtle complexity. The bottling comes in gift packaging and is not chill-filtered.
Tasting Notes:
- Nose: The nose reveals intense notes of heather honey and creamy toffee, accompanied by cooked fruits, fine raisins, and a hint of spicy oak. The Marsala barrels provide a multi-layered sweetness with subtle hints of dried fruits and caramel.
- Palate: On the palate, the whisky is full-bodied and balanced. Sweet heather honey, soft toffee, and ripe, cooked fruits take center stage, blending with spicy wood notes, malt, and the vinous influences of the Marsala barrels.
- Finish: The finish is long and pleasantly warming, marked by lasting honey sweetness. Fruity accents, gentle spices, and finely integrated oak spice slowly fade away, providing an elegant conclusion.

The bottling is part of the GlenAllachie Wood Finish series and is known for the use of Marsala barrels that previously contained Sicilian sweet wine. The special maturation technique, consisting of a combination of eight years in ex-bourbon barrels and then around 42 months in Marsala barrels, underscores the quality of this bottling.
