Special Features:

This single-cask release centres on its entire 15-year maturation in new oak. The whisky was distilled on 16 October 2009 and matured in Virgin Oak Barrel 804305 until it was bottled in February 2025. Billy Walker personally selected the cask for this official bottling. The cask yielded 283 bottles, filled at a cask strength of 56.9% without chill filtration or added colouring.

The new oak gives this non-smoky Speyside single malt a distinctly spicy, oak-led structure. Fruity and sweet notes provide a counterpoint to the cask character, while the oak influence remains perceptible as a slight bitterness in the long finish.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose combines toasted hazelnuts, rich chocolate and honey cake with ripe pineapple and green apple, rounded out by vanilla.
• Palate: On the palate, butterscotch, salted caramel and heather honey meet dark sugar syrup and baked cinnamon, while candied ginger and mocha add depth to the profile.
• Finish: The long finish begins with a slight oak bitterness, develops into honeyed sweetness and fades with delicate spices and a hint of vanilla.

Distillery/Bottler:

The GlenAllachie Distillery was built in 1967 to designs by William Delmé-Evans and began production in 1968. The facility was designed to operate almost entirely by gravity, reducing its energy requirements.

Billy Walker, Trisha Savage and Graham Stevenson acquired the distillery from Chivas Brothers in 2017. Its whisky had previously been destined mainly for premium blends; in 2018, GlenAllachie launched its own core single malt range for the first time. The distillery produced the whisky for this single-cask release before it matured in cask 804305 and was bottled as an official distillery bottling.
