Special Features:

This GlenAllachie spent all 14 years of its maturation in American oak Bourbon Barrel #2471, with no subsequent sherry finish. Billy Walker selected the single cask for an exclusive bottling for the German market. The whisky was distilled on 8 November 2010 and bottled in June 2025 at 56.3%, yielding 166 bottles of 0.7 litres each. It has its natural colour and was not chill-filtered. The bottle comes in a box.

Continuous maturation in American oak brings out vanilla, buttercream and orchard fruit alongside honey, muscovado sugar and peppery oak. Dried banana, white mocha and ginger biscuits add to this character.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: Vanilla and butterscotch lead on the nose, joined by peppery oak, orchard fruit, a hint of white mocha and dried banana.
• Palate: Buttercream and vanilla come first on the palate, followed by ginger biscuits and toasted honeycomb. Muscovado sugar and a little light syrup add to the creamy impression.
• Finish: The medium-long to long finish retains notes of candyfloss and brandy-soaked orchard fruit, fading with fruit and warmth.

Distillery/Bottler:

The GlenAllachie distillery in Speyside was built in 1967 to a design by William Delmé-Evans and began production in 1968. Its facilities were designed to make extensive use of gravity. For many years, its whisky went mainly into blends; its own core single-malt range did not appear until 2018.

Billy Walker acquired the distillery in 2017 with Trisha Savage and Graham Stevenson. This whisky was distilled before the change of ownership; under the new owners, the matured single cask was selected and its whisky bottled. Walker and his team monitor the development of the maturing whiskies and decide whether a cask should mature further or be selected for bottling. GlenAllachie itself bottled the whisky from Bourbon Barrel #2471.
