This EU-exclusive single-cask bottling is part of The Master Blender’s European Collection. Distilled on 26 February 2013, the single malt matured for twelve years in European virgin oak hogshead #4385 and was bottled in August 2025 at a cask strength of 61.7%. The cask yielded 344 bottles; the whisky is neither chill-filtered nor coloured.

Virgin oak refers to oak that has not previously held another liquid. This allows the wood to influence the whisky particularly directly. In this bottling, the cask choice is reflected in pronounced spice and structure, together with nutty and woody accents.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose reveals heather honey, cocoa and cinnamon, followed by hazelnut, rose blossom and mocha, with spiced orange, ginger and white chocolate adding further accents.
• Palate: The palate initially brings butterscotch, mocha and heather honey, followed by hazelnut, spiced orange and cocoa; ginger and muscovado sugar complete the progression.
• Finish: The long finish is warming and spicy; ginger and dark sugar persist before orange gently lingers.

Distillery/Bottler:

The GlenAllachie Distillery distilled the single malt, matured it in cask #4385, selected the cask for a single-cask release and handled the bottling as an official distillery bottling.

Under Billy Walker and his team, GlenAllachie once again became an independent, wholly Scottish-owned company; previously, the distillery had mainly produced whisky for the blending industry. Today, Billy Walker and his team monitor the casks in their own warehouses throughout maturation and determine the optimal bottling time for each one. This independence also gives them scope to work with a variety of wood and cask types.
