Special features: This 15-year-old single malt initially matured in classic ex-bourbon casks made of American oak before receiving its finish in Oloroso sherry casks from Andalusia. The combination gives the whisky a fascinating depth and complexity. The limited release of 9,420 bottles completely avoids chill filtration and colorings to authentically preserve the original aroma.
Tasting Notes:
Nose: Rich and pronounced with aromas of pralines, roasted nuts, golden syrup, and candied fruit peels.
Palate: Multi-layered sweet with notes of maple pecan pie, sultanas, milk chocolate, as well as a hint of heather honey, nutmeg, and spicy oak.
Finish: Warming and long-lasting, reminiscent of apple strudel and pudding tarts, with lingering sweet spices and espresso.
Distillery/Bottler: The Glencadam Distillery was founded in 1825 in the East Highlands of Scotland and has developed over the years from a supplier of blended whiskies to a recognized single malt producer. With its classic setup of two copper pot stills and the characteristic lyne arm inclination, Glencadam produces soft and elegant whiskies whose quality is appreciated by connoisseurs. The releases are unadulterated, without chill filtration and without coloring, which underscores their authenticity.
