Glencadam 25 y.o. Batch 5 is an official bottling from The Remarkable series, limited to 1,314 bottles. The Highland single malt was matured for 25 years and bottled at 46% in 0.7-litre bottles; it comes in a wooden box.

The whisky retains its natural colour and was not chill-filtered, preserving its mature character without added colouring or chill filtration.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: On the nose, sweet malt and exotic fruit meet mixed nuts, while a delicate woody note in the background recalls the inside of a cigar box.
• Palate: On the palate, guava, hazelnut and almond combine with distinct notes of oak.
• Finish: The finish fades with soft oak spice, ginger and pepper.

Distillery/Bottler:

Glencadam is located in Brechin in the eastern Highlands. David Scott established the distillery in 1825 on land leased from his father-in-law, George Cooper. After it was mothballed in 2000, Angus Dundee Distillers acquired the operation in 2003, and production resumed in August of that year.

The distillery uses unpeated Scottish malted barley and ferments the wort in traditional Oregon pine washbacks. Upward-angled lyne arms encourage reflux during distillation and contribute to the house style of tropical and orchard fruit. Glencadam matures its whisky in historic dunnage warehouses whose origins date back to 1825.
