Special Features:

Named after Scotland’s Glencoe valley, this blended malt brings together malt whiskies matured for at least ten years. Orange marmalade and ripe banana sit alongside spicy wood, toasted nuts and dark chocolate. A soft, mouth-filling texture complements its fruity sweetness.

Glencoe is bottled at 46% without chill filtration or added colouring. The bottle contains 0.7 litres and comes in gift packaging.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: Ripe banana and orange marmalade emerge first on the nose. Spicy wood and toasted nuts then become more pronounced.
• Palate: Glencoe feels soft and mouth-filling on the palate. Orange and banana shape its fruity sweetness, accompanied by subtle spice. Dark chocolate develops in the background.
• Finish: The finish is long, smooth and full-bodied. Chocolate notes and delicate spice linger.

Distillery/Bottler:

John “Long John” MacDonald founded the Ben Nevis Distillery in 1825 near Fort William, at the foot of Ben Nevis. Rory MacDonald launched Glencoe in the 1960s, when he ran the Clachaig Inn in Glencoe valley. The distillery acquired the brand in the 1990s and added the blended malt to its range.

Japan’s Nikka Whisky Distilling Co., Ltd. acquired Ben Nevis in 1989. One year later, the distillery renewed its mash tun and washbacks and resumed production. To make its malts, Ben Nevis ferments the wort in wooden or stainless-steel vessels; it selects the middle cut of the distillation for maturation in oak casks. Ben Nevis offers Glencoe as an official bottling.
