Glendalough Pot Still Irish Whiskey
Special features: This Pot Still Irish Whiskey from Glendalough is made from a blend of malted and unmalted barley and is triple distilled in traditional copper pot stills. After a three-year maturation in ex-bourbon casks, it receives up to a one-year finish in casks made from Irish oak sourced from the surrounding Wicklow Mountains. Each bottle is individually numbered and can be traced back to the felled tree.
Tasting Notes:
- Nose: Sweet and citrusy aromas with notes of vanilla, caramel, banana, and molasses, accompanied by earthy, herbal undertones of oak spice and leather.
- Palate: Soft, warm, and buttery, with flavors of pot still malt and spices, complemented by notes of caramelized pears, molasses, cinnamon, nutmeg, and a distinct toasted oak spice.
- Finish: Long-lasting with creamy vanilla, almonds, wild berries, and toasted Irish oak.
