Glenfarclas 105

Special features: The Glenfarclas 105 is a powerful single malt whisky that was first bottled in 1968 and is one of the first cask strength bottlings from Scotland. The name "105" refers to the old British measurement unit "Proof," where 105 Proof corresponds to 60% alcohol content. This whisky is exclusively matured in sherry casks and is neither chill-filtered nor colored, resulting in an authentic and intense tasting experience.

Tasting Notes:

  • Nose: Complex aromas of oak, accompanied by fruity notes such as apples and pears, as well as a pleasant sweetness from caramel.
  • Palate: Dry and malty with a distinct sherry influence, showing notes of raisins and peaches. A hint of gingerbread and almonds complements the tasting experience.
  • Finish: Long and peppery, fading into orange peel and nut notes.

Distillery/Bottler: The Glenfarclas Distillery, founded in 1836 by Robert Hay, is located in the heart of the Scottish Speyside region. Since 1865, it has been owned by the Grant family and is now run by the sixth generation. The distillery is known for its tradition and the exclusive maturation of its whiskies in sherry casks, which shapes the characteristic flavor of its products.
