This eleven-year-old distillery bottling was created as a Travel Retail Exclusive for international travel retail. The whisky was matured entirely in sherry casks. It is offered at 46% in a 1-litre bottle with a blue tube and is neither chill filtered nor coloured.

Maturation in sherry casks shapes a fruity, spicy style: stewed fruit and toffee meet dried fruit, nuts, malt, chocolate and dry cask spice. The bottling strength of 46% gives the whisky a pronounced body.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: Fruit loaf and toasted walnuts give the aroma a warm, nutty foundation. Red grapes, stewed apple, creamy toffee and a hint of orange peel follow. With more time in the glass, cinnamon biscuits and subtle wood spice eventually emerge.
• Palate: The whisky initially feels soft, with malt defining the opening. Plum preserve, candied orange and dark honey then lead into almond brittle and cocoa, accompanied by a trace of clove. Towards the end, the cask spice gradually becomes more prominent while the fruit remains clearly discernible.
• Finish: The long finish is velvety and warming, yet also dry and spicy. Polished oak and delicate chocolate accompany sweet malt, toasted nuts and orange peel, which remain present throughout.

Distillery/Bottler:

Glenfarclas Distillery is located near Ballindalloch in Speyside and received its official licence in 1836. It has belonged to the Grant family since 1865 and continues to operate as an independent family business.

Glenfarclas traditionally uses direct-fired stills for its double distillation. The distillery's cask selection includes European oak casks that previously held Oloroso sherry. The whisky in this eleven-year-old bottling was matured entirely in sherry casks.
