This tasting set brings together three distillery bottlings that showcase the sherry-influenced Glenfarclas house style: 0.7 litres of Glenfarclas 15, 0.05 litres of Glenfarclas 105 and 0.05 litres of Glenfarclas 25, for a total volume of 0.8 litres. Glenfarclas 15 is 15 years old and bottled at 46%; Glenfarclas 105 is presented at a cask strength of 60%, while the 25-year-old matured for 25 years and is bottled at 43%. The whiskies in the set are not chill-filtered and contain no added colouring.

The cask-strength Glenfarclas 105 miniature provides a striking counterpoint with bold oak and spices. Glenfarclas 25 reflects its long maturation through dark chocolate, toasted hazelnuts and cinnamon, while the 15-year-old combines sherry, malt and honey with a delicate touch of vanilla. Together, the three whiskies offer a comparison of different ages and alcoholic strengths. Their sensory spectrum ranges from malty sweetness and bold oak with spices to dark chocolate, hazelnut and cinnamon.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: On the nose, Glenfarclas 15 combines sherry and light butterscotch with a hint of dried fruit. Honey and a delicate touch of vanilla complement the aroma.
• Palate: Bold malt sets the tone for Glenfarclas 15 on the palate. Sweet sherry and smooth honey complement it.
• Finish: Glenfarclas 15 has a long, lingering finish with sweet sherry notes.

Distillery/Bottler:

All three whiskies in this set are distillery bottlings from Glenfarclas Distillery. Since John Grant purchased the distillery and Rechlerich Farm in 1865, J. & G. Grant has operated Glenfarclas as an independent family business.

The distillery is located at the foot of Ben Rinnes. Its spirit is double-distilled in direct-fired stills. For maturation, Glenfarclas uses European oak casks sourced from a family-run bodega, where they previously held Oloroso sherry.
