As the first release in the Trinity Vintage Series, this Glenfarclas places the 2012 vintage centre stage. The single malt was matured for twelve years entirely in Oloroso sherry casks from Bodega José y Miguel Martín and bottled in 2024 at 46%. Oloroso therefore shapes not merely a final finishing period, but the entire maturation and the profile, from dark fruit to notes of nuts, chocolate and spice.

Raisins, dates and prunes define the dark-fruit character. Roasted nuts, dark chocolate, leather and tobacco add depth, while toffee, honey and vanilla contribute sweetness; the oak remains a gentle accent.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: Raisins, dates and prunes lead on the nose; nutmeg provides a spicy accent, while delicate notes of dark chocolate and roasted nuts round out the bouquet.
• Palate: On the palate, toffee, honey and dark caramel meet ripe berries and dried fruit, alongside leather, tobacco and spices, with a touch of oak and vanilla.
• Finish: The finish is long and warm, with lingering sweetness and spice accompanied by delicate hints of dark chocolate and cinnamon.

Distillery/Bottler:

Glenfarclas has been run by the Grant family since 1865. Its traditional direct-fired stills help shape the spirit’s gentle, fruity Speyside character. Glenfarclas bottles the whisky itself, while chairman John L. S. Grant personally selects the ex-Oloroso casks from the family-run Bodega José y Miguel Martín.
