Special Features:

For this Small Batch, Berry Bros. & Rudd selected three Glenlossie Hogsheads with cask references 6136, 6137 and 6138 and married the whiskies matured in them. This Speyside single malt was distilled in 2013 and bottled in 2023 at 46%. The release comprises 856 bottles. No colouring was added, and the whisky was not chill-filtered.

The marriage preserves Glenlossie's light, fruity style while bringing together sweet and spicy impressions. This non-smoky single malt comes in a 0.7-litre bottle with gift packaging.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose initially recalls spicy vanilla yoghurt. Warm orchard fruit notes and green sweets then emerge.
• Palate: The whisky feels fresh on the palate. Apple and pear mingle with honey, caramel and spicy clove sweets.
• Finish: Sweet fruit notes return in waves through the long finish, while the wood spice persists.

Distillery/Bottler:

Glenlossie was founded in 1876 by a group led by John Duff and is situated near Elgin in Speyside. Since 1971, the distillery has shared its site with Mannochmore. Much of its production goes into blended Scotch whiskies. Its production methods include long fermentation and devices known as purifiers on the stills. These return heavier components that have condensed in the lyne arm for redistillation. They contribute to the spirit's delicate character and oily texture, while the long fermentation encourages grassy notes in the new make.

Berry Bros. & Rudd is responsible for this release as an independent bottler. The family-run London wine and spirits merchant dates back to 1698 and has its headquarters on St James’s Street. In the early 19th century, it began bottling spirits from selected casks under its own name. For this Glenlossie, the house handled cask selection, the creation of the Small Batch and its release.
