For Batch 2 of The Cadboll Estate, Glenmorangie used barley from eight fields on the estate near Tain. The barley is grown and harvested to the distillery’s specifications. The whisky then matured for 15 years at the distillery, exclusively in first-fill bourbon casks. Glenmorangie selected these casks to deepen the distillate’s creamy character.

This bottling brings together bright fruit, vanilla and toasted almonds. Orange blossom, jasmine and heather add floral notes, while ginger and cinnamon complement the fruit’s sweetness. The long finish combines orange oil, toasted oak and eucalyptus. This non-smoky single malt is offered at 43% in a 0.7-litre bottle with gift packaging.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose reveals orange and honey-sweet apricot alongside creamy vanilla, toasted almond and a hint of coconut. A little water brings orange blossom, jasmine and heather more clearly to the fore.
• Palate: The whisky feels soft and silky on the palate. Poached pear, apricot and lively lemon are followed by ginger and cinnamon, contrasted by a cool, menthol-like freshness.
• Finish: The long finish lingers with orange oil, toasted oak and eucalyptus.

Distillery/Bottler:

William and Anne Matheson founded Glenmorangie in Tain, in the northern Highlands, in 1843. Its exceptionally tall stills favour a light, fruity spirit. For The Cadboll Estate range, the distillery uses barley grown nearby and matures the whisky in Tain. Glenmorangie bottles this edition itself and belongs to LVMH through Moët Hennessy.
