Special Features:

The Aureum matured for 21 years in American oak bourbon casks and was launched for travel retail in 2024. Dr Bill Lumsden developed the whisky using water from the Tarlogie Springs. The distillery bottling contains 0.7 litres, has an alcohol content of 43% and comes in a premium box. The whisky is chill-filtered.

The whisky combines heather honey and light fruit with lemon, jasmine, creamy vanilla and ripe peach. Baked apple and other orchard fruits add further depth, while oak gives the palate structure. Ginger, mild chilli and marzipan lead into a lingering finish that also reveals gentle milk chocolate and a light nutty note.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose brings together heather honey, pear, melon, a lively lemon note and jasmine. A drop of water opens up further floral impressions alongside hints of mint and honeysuckle.
• Palate: The whisky is full and creamy on the palate. Vanilla, ripe peach, candied lemon peel, honeycomb and a hint of mint coffee are accompanied by baked apples, other orchard fruits and gentle biscuit and malt notes, while oak gives the flavours structure.
• Finish: The smooth, lingering finish reveals ginger, mild chilli and a hint of marzipan. Gentle milk chocolate and a light nutty note also linger.

Distillery/Bottler:

Glenmorangie Distillery in Tain produces this Highland single malt and releases The Aureum as a distillery bottling. The distillery is part of LVMH's wine and spirits portfolio.

William and Anne Matheson founded Glenmorangie in 1843. Exceptionally tall stills and extensive expertise in selecting and using oak casks are defining features of the distillery's production.
