Maturation in a first-fill Amontillado sherry cask gives this ten-year-old Speyside single malt its dry, fruity and nutty sherry character.

Brave New Spirits released this bottling in 2025 as a Halloween edition in the WhiskyHeroes series under the name Jack-o-Barrel: Creeper of the Casks. A total of 666 bottles of 0.7 litres each were produced; the whisky was bottled at 54.1% without chill filtration or added colouring.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: On the nose, dried fruit and malty sweetness mingle with nuts, dry sherry and spices, complemented by light wood notes and a creamy impression.
• Palate: On the palate, malty richness and nutty, fruity notes meet soft wood, with sweetness and spice in balance.
• Finish: The medium-to-long finish fades with dry sherry warmth, delicate spices and a nutty aftertaste.

Distillery/Bottler:

The Glenrothes Distillery produced this Speyside single malt. The distillery uses water from four of its own springs and distils in tall stills at a particularly slow flow rate. The resulting prolonged copper contact is intended to create a light and fruity new make spirit.

Founded in 2020, Brave New Spirits operates as an independent bottler and blender from its own bonded warehouse in Glasgow. For this release, the company selected the first-fill Amontillado sherry cask and bottled the whisky matured in it. The WhiskyHeroes series comprises single-cask and small-batch bottlings from various distilleries, with labels inspired by classic action comics.
