This eleven-year-old Glenrothes matured in sherry casks and belongs to Gordon & MacPhail's Discovery range. The range groups its whiskies by cask type and flavour profile, with this expression representing the sherry category.

Red and dark fruits alongside chocolate shape the whisky's character. Black pepper, warming spices, toasted walnut and oak provide a spicy, roasted contrast.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose combines vibrant Seville orange with cinnamon and clove. Red berries, plum and cherry follow, accompanied by milk chocolate.
• Palate: The whisky initially feels creamy on the palate. Ground black pepper, dark woodland berries and warming spices follow before orange marmalade emerges, while toasted walnut gives way to toasted oak.
• Finish: The long finish lingers with chocolate and orange.

Distillery/Bottler:

The Glenrothes Distillery was founded by James Stuart & Co. in 1879 and is located in Rothes in Speyside. Its single malts are known for their elegant, complex character and are often matured in sherry casks, which encourage pronounced fruit and spice notes. Independent bottler Gordon & MacPhail selected the whisky and released it as part of the Discovery range.
