Special Features:

This single-cask release from Cask Series 020 matured for 15 years in a refill hogshead. The whisky was distilled in November 2006 and bottled by North Star Spirits in September 2022 at a cask strength of 52.1%, yielding 251 bottles. It was neither chill-filtered nor coloured.

The sensory journey leads from hot apple pie with cream and a hint of cinnamon on the nose through marzipan, black pepper and sweet fried pastry on the palate to a finish reminiscent of cannoli.

Distillery/Bottler:

The Glenrothes Distillery in Speyside produced this single malt. It draws water from four springs of its own. Its distillation runs at roughly half the speed of other well-known distilleries, while tall stills extend the spirit's contact with copper and help create a light, fruity new make spirit.

North Star Spirits was founded in Glasgow in 2016 by Iain Croucher. This independent, family-run bottler selects casks of Scotch whisky and manages the bottling of the chosen whiskies itself. For this Glenrothes, North Star Spirits selected the refill hogshead and bottled the whisky matured in it after 15 years, producing 251 bottles at 52.1% in September 2022.
