Special Features:

The Moscatel finish adds vinous sweetness and spice to the bright fruit of this 18-year-old Speyside malt without obscuring its stone-fruit character. After its initial maturation in a hogshead, the whisky spent its final maturation period in a Moscatel Hogshead. Berry Bros. & Rudd bottled this 2007-distilled single malt from cask #800577 in 2025 at 56.6%, yielding 257 bottles. The whisky is not chill-filtered and contains no added colouring.

Apricot, peach and Muscat grapes form the fruity side of this bottling. Lemon zest and floral notes add brighter accents, while cinnamon, nutmeg and a gently bitter almond note bring spice and definition.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: On the nose, lemon zest and floral notes mingle with cinnamon and ripe apricot, followed by a subtle hint of almond skin.
• Palate: The whisky is smooth and full-bodied on the palate. Juicy stone fruit and Muscat grapes meet a gently bitter almond note, with nutmeg and a little honey complementing the fruit.
• Finish: The long finish retains floral and gently spicy impressions alongside citrus, light-coloured raisins and a touch of oak.

Distillery/Bottler:

Glentauchers is in Speyside, near Keith. The distillery began production in 1898 and makes malt whisky that is also used in blends. Chivas Brothers operates the distillery today.

Berry Bros. & Rudd is a London wine and spirits merchant whose roots date to 1698. As an independent bottler, it selected the Glentauchers whisky, gave it a Moscatel finish and released it as a single-cask bottling.
