Special Features:

Two First Fill Sherry Butts underpin this small cask selection from La Maison du Whisky's Artist Collective. Distilled in 2009, the Glentauchers matured for 13 years and was bottled in 2022 for edition 6.4. Sherry cask maturation, exotic fruit, flowers and wood notes combine to shape its character. The single malt is bottled at 48% in a 0.7-litre bottle, without chill filtration or added colouring.

This bottling belongs to the Antipodes collection. Its art label features Peinture idéographique IV by Yanis Khannoussi, with red lines standing out against a blue background. A grey gift box with a window keeps the bottle's design on view.

Tasting Notes:

  • Nose: The nose is rich and deep. Incense, pink pepper and musk meet sandalwood, cedarwood and linden wood, alongside bitter orange and candied apricot. With air, lavender and wild geranium emerge. Delicate liquorice notes and rose petals gradually add to the bouquet.
  • Palate: The palate opens with a lively, airy character, bringing guava, mango, lilac, lavender, heather honey and chocolate. Quince jelly and apricot jam become more distinct on the mid-palate. Towards the end, cocoa and grated ginger mingle with velvety tannins reminiscent of dark grape skins and dried figs.
  • Finish: The long finish begins smoothly with sponge cake and salted butter caramel. The lavish sweetness then gives way to orange and clementine peel, cinnamon and clove. Impressions of Espelette chilli and camphor linger on the exhale and in the empty glass.

Distillery/Bottler:

Glentauchers is closely linked to the history of Scottish blends. The distillery supplied whisky particularly for Buchanan and later Black & White, while bottlings as a single malt in its own right remained rare. In 1965, the number of stills increased from two to six. After closing in 1985, the distillery resumed production in 1992. It has belonged to Pernod Ricard since 2005.

For Artist Collective, La Maison du Whisky selects small groups of casks from individual Scottish distilleries. Unlike a single-cask bottling, these releases bring together several whiskies from the same distillery. The series combines different regions, maturation methods and styles with contemporary art. Since its launch in 2017, successive artists have designed the collections' labels.
