Special Features:

This 14-year-old Glentauchers was distilled in February 2009 and spent the final 20 months of its maturation finishing in a freshly emptied first-fill Bordeaux red wine barrique. The whisky from single cask 900219 was bottled at 50% in May 2023 as a limited edition of 329 bottles.

The Bordeaux finish shapes this non-smoky single malt with cherries, dark berries, raisins and red wine notes. Chocolate and nougat add depth, while baked goods, barley malt, cinnamon and oak spice complement the fruity sweetness. The whisky is neither coloured nor chill-filtered.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: On the nose, aromatic cherry syrup, blackberries and strawberries combine with malt sweets, chocolate, oat biscuits and oak spice.
• Palate: The whisky is full-bodied on the palate, revealing red-wine-soaked raisins, sweetened currants, black cherries and a hint of blueberry. Freshly baked bread, nougat cream, sweet barley malt and a little cinnamon round out the flavour.
• Finish: The finish is long, with lingering wild berries, a subtle note of cinnamon and gentle oak spice.

Distillery/Bottler:

Glentauchers was founded in 1897 on the grounds of Tauchers Farm and is located in Speyside between Keith and Aberlour. Much of the malt produced there is destined for blends such as Ballantine's. Since 2007, the distillery has also served as Chivas Brothers’ training centre for manual distillery operations.

The Swiss Langatun Distillery released this Glentauchers through its independent bottling range, LongValley Selection. Glentauchers produced the Speyside malt, while LongValley Selection released the single-cask bottling.
