Special Features:

A first-fill Bourbon Barrel shapes this single-cask bottling from The Whisky Cellar's Private Cellars Selection. The Glentauchers was distilled in June 2011 and matured for twelve years in cask 406 before the whisky was bottled in June 2023. The cask yielded 230 bottles.

This bottling combines sweet malt and pastry notes with light-coloured fruit and spicy oak. Bottled at 56.4% alcohol, it is neither chill-filtered nor coloured. The bottle contains 0.7 litres and comes in gift packaging.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: On the nose, brioche and salted butter mingle with the scent of lemonade. Sweet barley malt, light-coloured fruit and oak spice complete the aroma.
• Palate: The whisky is full-bodied and sweet on the palate. Creamy malt sweets, salted caramel and buttered toast take the lead, with fresh lemon zest, ripe pears and spicy oak in the background.
• Finish: Buttery pastries, light-coloured fruit and sweet cereal notes linger on the finish, fading slowly.

Distillery/Bottler:

Glentauchers is located at Mulben, near Keith in Speyside. James Buchanan and W.P. Lowrie founded the distillery; its foundation stone was laid on 29 May 1897 on the grounds of Tauchers Farm. Today, Glentauchers operates three wash stills for the first distillation and three spirit stills for the second. Its water comes from a reservoir fed by the Rosarie Burn. Much of its production goes into blended whiskies.

The Whisky Cellar is responsible for this independent bottling. The Edinburgh-based company was founded by Keith Bonnington. For his own bottlings, he draws on established cask sources and selects parcels of casks from them. This release focuses on a single distillery, Glentauchers, and a single cask, number 406.
