Hazelnut Spirit ORGANIC - Fine Spirits

Volume: 0.5 litres | Alcohol content: 40% | Colouring: No

Special Features:

For this spirit, Feingeisterei uses organic Tonda Gentile hazelnuts from Piedmont, sourced directly from the grower. The kernels are lightly roasted at 140 °C, then crushed and macerated for six weeks in neutral organic alcohol. The macerate is then slowly distilled in a wood-fired copper still. The first distillation is followed by a second to make a precise selection; only the heart of the distillate is used. This brings the nut aromas into the spirit without the need for added flavourings. No sugar or colouring is added either.

Hazelnut, delicate milk chocolate and nougat are accompanied by subtle roasted notes. Caramel, white cocoa butter and a hint of vanilla add to the aromatic profile, alongside a velvety sweetness. Enjoy the spirit neat at 18–20 °C, with dark chocolate as an accompaniment.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: Roasted hazelnuts define the aroma.
• Palate: Intense hazelnut flavours take centre stage on the palate, accompanied by light chocolate and nougat notes and subtle roasted aromas.
• Finish: A roasted nougat note lingers in the long finish.

Distillery/Bottler:

Martina and Fabian Rohrwasser have been making spirits at Gut Basthorst since 2012. Feingeisterei distils its own spirits in a wood-fired distillery and works with certified organic ingredients. It uses neither additives nor added flavourings. A copper still is used for the hazelnut spirit.
