Special features: The Hatozaki Triple Cask Reserve Pure Malt Whisky is a masterpiece of the Kaikyo Distillery, named after the impressive Akashi-Kaikyō Bridge, the longest suspension bridge in the world. This whisky combines the craftsmanship of Master Blender Kimio Yonezawa with the tradition of Japanese whisky making. It matures in a unique combination of ex-bourbon, sherry, and umeshu plum liqueur casks, giving it a complex and harmonious flavor structure.
Tasting Notes:
- Nose: Inviting aromas of dried apricots and a subtle hint of vanilla, accompanied by a touch of oak spice and a light tea scent.
- Palate: Gentle oak spice, accompanied by hints of dried peels and flavors of umeshu plums. More pronounced wood tones follow with gentle alcoholic facets.
- Finish: Long and smooth with delicate sweetness and lingering oak spice.
