Special Features:

Hellyers Road Twin Oak combines two cask types and two maturation periods. The bottling brings together a single malt matured for twelve years in American ex-bourbon casks and a single malt matured for five years in French ex-Port casks.

In the finished whisky, vanilla, orange and citrus marmalade mingle with toast, red and winter berries, toasted wood and nutmeg. Sweet citrus notes meet a vinous, spicy cask character.

The single malt is bottled at 48.9% without chill filtration or added colouring. The 0.7-litre bottle is presented in a gift box.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose reveals vanilla and citrus marmalade with strawberry, a delicate citrus note and a hint of white pepper.
• Palate: On the palate, creamy vanilla, orange marmalade, wild raspberries and candied lemon mingle with toast and winter berries. Cinnamon adds spicy depth to the full-bodied texture.
• Finish: The finish is smooth and long, with spicy oak, nutmeg and red berries shaping the lingering flavours.

Distillery/Bottler:

Hellyers Road Distillery produces and bottles Twin Oak in north-west Tasmania. It was founded in 1997 by a dairy cooperative whose family-run farms had joined forces in 1956. The distillery remains majority-owned by descendants of these families.

Experience from the dairy industry contributed to the design of the distillery’s own unconventional stills. Hellyers Road makes its wash from Tasmanian barley and matures its whiskies in the island’s coastal climate.
