Maturation predominantly in new oak casks is one of the distinctive features of Hennessy V.S. Different eaux-de-vie, or individual wine distillates, are blended to create this cognac. Its character combines toasted and fruity notes with a creamy palate. In the glass, it displays a clear, bright amber colour.

This miniature contains 0.05 litres of Hennessy V.S at 40% alcohol and comes without gift packaging. V.S stands for Very Special. As well as being enjoyed neat, this robust, rounded blend is suited to cocktails and simple mixed drinks.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The cognac initially reveals aromas of freshly toasted bread, roasted almonds and brown sugar. More subtle grape aromas then emerge.
• Palate: On the palate, it is rich and creamy, with pronounced aromatic intensity and an additional vanilla note.
• Finish: The finish is lively, fresh and floral.

Distillery/Bottler:

Richard Hennessy, a former officer from Ireland, founded the cognac trading house in 1765. Hennessy is rooted in the Charente region. Since Jean Fillioux was appointed the first Master Blender in 1806, his family has overseen the selection, maturation and blending of the eaux-de-vie across eight generations.

The house's tasting committee plays a central role. Its experts meet every morning at 11 a.m. in Cognac to assess the eaux-de-vie offered to them and evaluate their potential against established criteria. Training a committee member takes ten years. During this process, the team develops a shared sensory vocabulary that enables consistent assessment of the distillates.
