Volume: 0.7 litres | Alcohol content: 60.1% | Chill filtration: No | Colouring: No
Special Features:
This 14-year-old Inchgower combines the salty, malty character of the coastal Speyside distillery with maturation entirely in a first-fill Marsala hogshead. The whisky was distilled on 15 November 2011 and subsequently matured in cask 104 before Signatory Vintage bottled it for the Cask Strength Collection on 16 December 2025.
The single cask yielded 304 bottles, each containing 0.7 litres. Signatory Vintage bottled the whisky at a cask strength of 60.1%, without chill filtration or colouring. It comes in a black metal tin with orange accents.
Orange, spicy malt, sweet dried fruit, Marsala and spiced oak form the core profile. Honey, nuts, caramelised fruit and warm spices add further depth, accompanied by vinous sweetness and a light salty, maritime note.
Tasting Notes:
- Nose: On the nose, ripe orange and sweet dried fruit mingle with honey and nuts, while a light salty, maritime note complements the bouquet.
- Palate: The whisky is rich and creamy on the palate, with caramelised fruit and warm spices combining with nutty depth and vinous sweetness.
- Finish: The finish is long, combining sweet, spicy fruit with spiced oak and a gently dry woody note.
Distillery/Bottler:
Inchgower was founded by Alexander Wilson in 1871 and is located near the coastal town of Buckie in northern Speyside. The distillery is now owned by Diageo, and a large share of its production goes into Bell's; official single malt bottlings are therefore comparatively rare. A salty, maritime note is characteristic of Inchgower and is also evident in this bottling.
Signatory Vintage was founded in 1988 by Andrew Symington and his brother. Since 2007, the independent bottler has operated entirely from the Edradour Distillery site in Pitlochry. For the Cask Strength Collection, Signatory Vintage bottled this 14-year-old Inchgower from cask 104 at cask strength.
