Distilled in 2011, this Inchgower matured for 14 years and was finished in First-Fill Oloroso Sherry Barrique #22000/201. Brave New Spirits bottled it in 2026 at 52.7% for the Cask Masters range. The 0.7-litre release comprises 285 individually numbered bottles; the whisky is non-chill-filtered and contains no added colouring.

This Inchgower belongs to the Golden Proof line within Cask Masters. For this line, Brave New Spirits bottles selected single casks at around 50% ABV, focusing on the balance between spirit and cask rather than on cask strength alone.

The Oloroso finish complements the oily, lightly maritime character of the spirit with dark dried fruit, chocolate and spices. Waxy notes, Peach Melba, sandalwood and flint broaden the profile without obscuring its coastal accent.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: On the nose, beeswax and sea air mingle with fruit steeped in sherry.
• Palate: The whisky feels waxy on the palate, combining Peach Melba, sandalwood and flint with dark dried fruit and spices.
• Finish: The finish is long, very smooth, maritime and full-bodied.

Distillery/Bottler:

Inchgower was founded near Buckie in 1871 by Alexander Wilson & Co. Now owned by Diageo, the distillery produces a weighty, spicy and lightly waxy Speyside malt. As a large proportion of its production goes into blends, Inchgower often reaches the bottle as a single malt through independent bottlings.

Brave New Spirits was founded in Glasgow in 2020 and operates its own bonded warehouse with bottling facilities there, as well as another warehouse in Campbeltown. For Cask Masters, the company selects single casks with a variety of maturation histories. The releases are non-chill-filtered and provide details of their age, cask type and bottling specifications.
