Jack Daniel's Tennessee Apple brings together Old No. 7 Tennessee Whiskey and a specially made apple liqueur. The apple varieties used are Granny Smith, McIntosh and Red Delicious. The whiskey base is charcoal-filtered and matured in new American oak barrels before being combined with the apple liqueur. The result brings green apple flavours together with the whiskey's caramel and spice notes.

The 0.7-litre bottle contains a liqueur with 35% alcohol. Tennessee Apple can be enjoyed neat, chilled or over ice. It also pairs well with tonic water in a long drink, with the tonic's bitterness contrasting with the fruity sweetness.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: Crisp green apples mingle with caramel and oak on the nose. A gentle spicy note rounds out the aromas.
• Palate: Freshly cut apples meet warm caramel and toffee notes on the palate. The sweetness balances the characteristic spice of Old No. 7.

The Jack Daniel Distillery is located in Lynchburg, Tennessee, USA. Jack Daniel registered the distillery in 1866; it has belonged to Brown-Forman since 1956. The underground cave spring on the grounds supplies iron-free water, an important foundation of its whiskey production.

Charcoal Mellowing is one of the distillery's signature processes. Sugar maple wood is burned to make charcoal, through which the whiskey trickles drop by drop. For the whiskey base used in Tennessee Apple, this takes place before maturation in new American oak barrels. The apple liqueur is added afterwards.
