Special Features:

For this bottling, Rum Artesanal combines rum from casks 258 and 259. Clarendon distilled the molasses-based rum in pot stills in December 2009; it was bottled in April 2022 after twelve years of maturation. It bears the distillation mark EMB.

The edition comprises 738 bottles, each containing 0.5 litres at 64.3% alcohol. It contains no colouring and comes in gift packaging. The contrast between its tropical, fruity nose and distinctly spicier palate defines its character.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose combines sweetish fruit notes of lychee, pineapple and mango with ripe banana and banana chips. Subtle oak spice complements the tropical aromas.
• Palate: Robust oak, nutmeg and anise lead the palate. Mango and banana remain discreetly in the background, while a slight bitterness complements the spicy flavour.
• Finish: Woody notes and subtle spice linger through the long finish.

Distillery/Bottler:

Clarendon Distillery is located in Monymusk near Lionel Town, Jamaica. Its history is closely linked to the Monymusk Sugar Factory, of which the distillery was originally part. In 1980, the rum operation was separated from the sugar company and placed under the management of National Rums of Jamaica. Clarendon produces both pot-still and column-still rums; pot-still rum was selected for this edition.

Rum Artesanal is a brand of Heinz Eggert GmbH and operates as an independent rum bottler. Its range includes selected cask bottlings, blends and an entry-level line. The cask bottlings focus on individual origins and selected distillates; this Clarendon edition brings together rum from two numbered casks.
