Special Features:

The limited Marsala Edition adds hand-selected Sicilian wine casks to Jameson’s Triple Triple range. The triple-distilled whiskey matures in bourbon, Oloroso sherry and Marsala casks; the edition was developed for travel retail. The Marsala casks come from the Florio winery in Trapani. Made from American white oak, they held Marsala wine for 2 to 3 years before being used at Midleton.

This cask selection adds a pronounced fruit character of dried apricot, banana and kiwi to sweet vanilla and caramel notes. Walnut, chocolate and toffee apple give the flavour depth, while ginger and soft oak tannins balance the sweetness. The 1 litre bottle contains whiskey at 40%.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose offers dried apricot, banana and kiwi. Woodland spices and a hint of walnut accompany vanilla and caramelised brown sugar.
• Palate: On the palate, the whiskey is full of toffee apple, vanilla and chocolate-covered walnuts. Exotic fruit and a delicate note of ginger meet soft oak tannins.
• Finish: In the lingering finish, nutty sweetness and gentle spices accompany the fruit. Fruit and oak fade first, while the spices remain to the end.

Distillery/Bottler:

Jameson’s history began in 1780 on Bow Street in Dublin. Since 1975, the whiskey has been produced at Midleton Distillery in County Cork. Both pot-still and grain distillates are made there and brought together in Irish blends.

Midleton uses malted and unmalted barley, as well as pot stills and column stills. Triple distillation also shapes this Marsala Edition. Irish Distillers Limited bottles the whiskey under the Jameson brand.
