Special Features:

Extended maturation in French oak casks shapes Jean-Luc Pasquet's XO Vieille Réserve. It comes from Grande Champagne and spent over twenty years in wood, developing its deep amber colour without added colouring. Its defining feature is rancio, a nutty, spicy note developed through ageing that gives the cognac its distinctly mature character.

This official bottling has an alcohol content of 42.1% and is presented here in a 1.5-litre magnum bottle. A nosing glass is suitable for tasting; when the cognac is served neat at room temperature, its fruity, floral and spicy facets can be explored.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: On the nose, dried fruit combines with cinnamon and distinctly mature rancio notes.
• Palate: The cognac feels velvety on the palate. Delicate orange blossom notes accompany the nutmeg spice.
• Finish: Subtle spice and pronounced rancio linger in the long finish. The finish is dry.

Distillery/Bottler:

Domaine Pasquet is located in Bellevigne, in Grande Champagne. The family's modern history at the estate began in 1970, when Jean-Luc Pasquet took it over from his uncle Albert. The stocks at that time included very old eaux-de-vie dating back to 1870. These reserves became a reference point for Jean-Luc as he developed his own cognacs.

Today, Jean and Amy Pasquet work together in the family business. Jean is responsible for winemaking and distillation, while Amy's work includes helping to select casks for the Trésors de Famille collection. Since 2006, the house has no longer supplied any part of its harvest to the major cognac houses. In its current production, Pasquet uses new casks as well as casks that are 1 and 2 years old for the first year of maturation.
