Jean-Luc Pasquet - Pineau des Charentes Blanc
Special features: This Pineau des Charentes Blanc is made from a careful blend of 50% Ugni Blanc and 50% Montils grape must, complemented by organic Cognac-Eau-de-Vie. After harvest, the grapes are pressed directly, and the must is fermented with natural yeast, avoiding the addition of foreign yeasts and sulfites to ensure an authentic terroir experience. The aging takes place for at least 30 months in oak barrels, resulting in remarkable aromatic complexity.
Tasting Notes:
- Nose: Complex aromas of ripe fruits such as pear, quince, and grape, accompanied by spicy notes and a hint of nuts and raisins.
- Palate: Full-bodied and aromatic with jammy nuances of pear and grape.
- Finish: Well balanced between sweetness and acidity, with a lasting freshness.
Distillery/Bottler: The family business Jean-Luc Pasquet, founded in 1970, manages 14 hectares of vineyards in the Grande and Petite Champagne. Since 1995, the estate has been operated using organic methods, with the grapes pressed directly and the must fermented with natural yeasts. The double distillation takes place in a traditional 20-hectoliter alambic, and the aging of the Cognac occurs in Limousin oak barrels.
