Johnnie Walker Black Label combines single malt and grain whisky from more than 29 Scottish distilleries. Every whisky in the blend matures in casks for at least twelve years before blending. The selection from different parts of Scotland brings together distinct flavour contributions: fruity sweetness, vanilla and spice meet a gentle smoky character.

The grain whiskies contribute creamy toffee notes, complementing the flavours developed through oak cask maturation. Black Label can be enjoyed neat, over ice or with a little water; it also makes a suitable base for a highball with ginger ale. This version contains 0.7 litres at 40% alcohol and comes without gift packaging.

Distillery/Bottler:

The story of Johnnie Walker begins in Kilmarnock in 1820. John Walker opened a grocery shop there after the sale of the family farm provided the starting capital. The varying quality of the single malts available at the time prompted him to blend whiskies together. He wanted to offer his customers a reliably consistent flavour—a practical challenge that gave rise to the house's blending tradition.

After John's death in 1857, his son Alexander took over the business. The railway in Kilmarnock and access to international shipping routes opened up new opportunities to sell the whisky beyond the region. Today, a team of blenders shapes Johnnie Walker whiskies. For Black Label, their task is to bring mature malt and grain whiskies from numerous distilleries together into a balanced whole.
