Special Features:

This single-cask release matured for 30 years in bourbon hogshead #9005283. Distilled at Jura on 10 October 1990, the whisky was bottled by Artful Dodger Whisky Collective on 24 March 2021 at 47.2%; the cask yielded 322 bottles of 0.5 litres each. The whisky is non-chill-filtered and contains no added colouring. The bottle comes in a box.

Its profile combines sponge cake, stewed apple, salted butter and vanilla with roasted spices. Honey, cinnamon and oak complement the mature aromas, while a delicate hint of smoke provides a restrained contrast.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose reveals dried wildflowers and pine accompanied by a delicate sea-salt note. Toffee and roasted almonds then emerge.
• Palate: The whisky feels silky and full-bodied on the palate. Creamy vanilla and nuts mingle with apple, ripe pear, grapefruit and orange peel, while resinous, waxy and earthy tones and a bready note add depth.
• Finish: The long finish is dry and mineral. Waxy and oily impressions fade with hay and a hint of herbal tea.

Distillery/Bottler:

Jura Distillery is located in Craighouse on the east coast of the Isle of Jura. Founded in 1810, the distillery closed in 1901 and resumed production in 1963 following a reconstruction designed by William Delme-Evans. Its particularly tall, broad stills increase contact with copper during distillation and contribute to a fruity, aromatic new make spirit.

Artful Dodger is part of the brand portfolio of Woolf Drinks, an independent bottler and spirits supplier. For this edition, Artful Dodger Whisky Collective selected the single bourbon hogshead #9005283 and bottled the Jura matured in it after 30 years.
