KI ONE Tiger combines a sweet, fruity style with maturation in sherry and wine casks. The distillery took inspiration from its Batch 3 Oloroso Sherry Cask, which was awarded Double Gold at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition. Tiger builds on this inspiration, with a profile that combines ripe and dried fruit with spicy cask notes.

The pronounced temperature fluctuations in Namyangju influence maturation: the warehouse can reach as low as −25°C in winter and more than 35°C in summer. As the wood expands and contracts, the spirit comes into intense contact with the casks, supporting the robust interplay of fruit, spices and oak.

This official distillery bottling contains 0.7 litres and is bottled at 46%. It is non-chill-filtered and bottled without added colouring to preserve its natural character as faithfully as possible.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose reveals ripe fruit, sweet honey and oak.
• Palate: On the palate, creamy, sweet caramel and butterscotch mingle with raisins and nutmeg.
• Finish: The finish brings notes of apple, plum, robust oak and oriental spices.

Distillery/Bottler:

Founded in 2020, KI ONE Distillery is located on the slopes of Baekbongsan in Namyangju and describes itself as South Korea’s first single malt whisky distillery. Behind it are a Korean-American founder, a Scottish master distiller and a Korean production team. Tiger is produced there as a Korean single malt and offered as an official distillery bottling.

KI ONE uses groundwater from its own well, fermentation lasting between 100 and 150 hours and double distillation in copper pot stills. The extended second fermentation phase promotes the formation of esters and acids that contribute to the spirit’s fruity and floral complexity. During the second distillation, only 10–15% is selected as the heart cut for filling the casks.
