Special features: The Kilchoman 2014/2023 is an 8-year-old single malt whisky from the Kilchoman Distillery in Scotland, which was founded in 2005 and represents the first new distillery on Islay in 124 years. This whisky matured in bourbon casks and has an alcohol content of 54.8% vol. The bottling is presented in a gift packaging. This edition was bottled in June 2023 and offers an aroma with smoky and fruity notes.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: On the nose, a light peat smoke unfolds, accompanied by maritime aromas, a hint of vanilla, and fresh citrus fruits.
• Palate: On the palate, the whisky is soft and full-bodied, with the peat smoke and vanilla reappearing, complemented by bright, ripe fruits and slight hints of spicy oak.
• Finish: The finish is long and pleasantly sweet, with a presence of vanilla, peat smoke, damp linen cloth, and oak spice.

Distillery/Bottler: The Kilchoman Distillery is the only distillery on Islay that carries out all production steps on-site, from growing the barley to malting to bottling. It uses traditional methods such as floor malting, where the barley is manually turned. Distillation takes place in small copper pot stills, which produce the desired maritime peat smoke and floral citrus notes. This bottling is part of the Uniquely Islay Series - An Samhradh 2023.
