The combination of casks shapes this Kilchoman Batch Strength: the whisky matures in re-charred red wine casks, Oloroso sherry butts and bourbon barrels. The red wine casks contribute particularly red fruit and caramel sweetness alongside peat smoke, citrus, dark fruit and bold spices. After maturation, Kilchoman adds a little water to bring the whisky to 57%. It has been part of the permanent range since 2024.
The malt used has a peat level of 50 ppm. This single malt is bottled in a 0.7-litre bottle without chill filtration or added colouring. It comes in gift packaging.

Anthony and Kathy Wills founded Kilchoman in 2005 at Rockside Farm on Islay. The distillery remains family-run. Kilchoman grows its own barley on the farm and uses traditional floor malting. Production also involves fermentation lasting around 90 hours and manually operated stills. Its single malts mature on Islay and are bottled at the distillery.
