Special features: This limited edition from Kilkerran presents a strong peat note, made particularly rich by the combination of 85% ex-bourbon and 15% ex-sherry casks. Chill filtration and color additives are avoided to preserve the malt's authentic character.
Tasting Notes:
- Nose: Sweet, sooty peat smoke is reminiscent of marshmallows roasted over a campfire. This is complemented by maritime notes characterized by salty sea air and nuances of freshly caught fish baskets, typical of Campbeltown.
- Palate: Complex and mature for its age, dominant peat smoke unfolds, underpinned by malty hints of crumbled digestive biscuits. A licorice note opens the palate, while a sweet honey sheen provides a slightly sticky texture.
- Finish: The finish is rounded off by fine red tones of fruity notes and a mineral touch.
