Special Features: The Laizhou Blender 22 presents itself as an innovative blended whisky from the traditional distilling region of Qionglai in China. The Laizhou Distillery combines modern distillation technology with traditional craftsmanship and utilizes a wide range of casks, including STR and sherry casks as well as rice wine casks and casks made from Mongolian oak. This variety gives the whisky remarkable complexity and depth.
Tasting Notes:
- Nose: Fresh aromas of green apple and crisp pear, accompanied by gentle notes of caramel, honey, and cream. A subtle hint of cedar wood adds elegance and complexity.
- Palate: Sweet and smooth, with flavors of honey, light caramel, apple juice, and citrus fruits that unfold a pleasant fruity sweetness.

Distillery/Bottler: The Laizhou Distillery, founded in 2021, is located in the Qionglai region of Sichuan, China. It employs modern distillation technology and its own cooperage to precisely control the flavors and create innovative whisky creations. The distillery has an annual capacity of 4.8 million liters and uses international raw materials such as Scottish malted barley as well as grains from Sichuan.
