Special Features:

This 25-year-old Islay single malt matured entirely in Oloroso Sherry Butt #4078. Laphroaig distilled the whisky on 18 September 2000; Signatory Vintage bottled it on 10 October 2025 for the Cask Strength Collection and the Symington's Choice selection. The single cask yielded 521 bottles at a natural cask strength of 54.5%. The whisky was neither chill-filtered nor coloured.

Ripe plums, raisins and blackberries meet vanilla, dark chocolate and dry sherry. Powerful peat smoke and maritime salinity create a striking contrast, while spicy oak and dry nutty notes give structure to the long aftertaste.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: On the nose, ripe plums and sweet raisins mingle with gentle vanilla. Distinct peat supports the dense bouquet, while the Oloroso sherry contributes additional depth of fruit.
• Palate: On the palate, dark blackberries and juicy plums unfold over powerful smoke and earthy peat notes. Pronounced maritime salinity gives the full-bodied whisky additional depth.
• Finish: The remarkably long finish combines dry sherry notes with lingering peat and smoke. Maritime notes and dry nutty aromas remain.

Distillery/Bottler:

Laphroaig was founded in 1815 by Donald and Alexander Johnston on Islay’s southern coast. The distillery uses water from the Kilbride Stream. Barley is turned by hand on its traditional malting floors and then kilned over peat fires—processes that help shape the distillery’s powerfully peated house character.

Signatory Vintage was founded in 1988 by Andrew Symington and his brother, and by 2007 had moved its entire operation to Edradour Distillery near Pitlochry. The independent bottler specialises in selecting and bottling individual casks. For this whisky, Signatory Vintage oversaw maturation in Oloroso Sherry Butt #4078 and bottled its contents for Symington's Choice.
