Special Features:

Citrus fruit defines LE Tribute’s character, while juniper remains subtle. The recipe includes lime, lemon and orange peel, grapefruit, mandarin and kumquat, alongside juniper and lemongrass. Its dry flavour combines fresh, tart and gently sweet accents.

The base alcohol is made from wheat and barley. The botanicals are prepared by hand for maceration and distilled in separate groups. Only then are the individual distillates blended according to the Giró family recipe to create the finished gin. LE Tribute is bottled at 43% in 0.7-litre bottles.

The ribbed, pale green glass bottle with its copper-coloured closure takes its shape from old apothecary bottles. The design recalls the early products made by the family behind the gin.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: Lime, grapefruit and mandarin lead the fresh, fruity and tart aroma. There is a light touch of lemongrass, with juniper subtly woven in.
• Palate: The gin is dry and clearly structured on the palate. Orange and kumquat bring sweet and bitter accents together. Restrained juniper adds depth, while lemongrass contributes a delicate herbal freshness.
• Finish: The citrus freshness lingers through the medium-long to long finish. Subtle spice accompanies the clear, clean aftertaste.

Distillery/Bottler:

MG Destilerías produces LE Tribute in Vilanova i la Geltrú on the Catalan coast near Barcelona. The Giró family’s history in drinks production dates back to 1835. Its early products included medicinal syrups, horchata and aguardiente. Gin MG, its first gin, followed in 1940.

The LE Tribute brand was created in 2016 to honour this family history and the craft of distillation. Separate processing of the botanical groups is central to how its gin is made: the recipe takes shape by bringing their distillates together, rather than distilling all the ingredients together.
