Special features: The Lochlea Cask Strength Batch #1 comes from the Lochlea Distillery in Scotland's Lowlands. This independent farm distillery, founded in 2018, is located on the historic site where the Scottish poet Robert Burns lived and worked. The whisky is bottled as a single malt and offers a cask strength bottling with an alcohol content of 60.1%. It matures in a combination of first-fill bourbon barrels and Oloroso sherry casks to develop an individual character. It is not chill-filtered and is free from coloring.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: On the nose, complex and harmonious notes of juicy apples, apricots, and grapes play with bright tobacco, roasted nuts, and freshly ground coffee.
• Palate: On the palate, the whisky is full-bodied and complex. Pears, black cherries, blackberries, and plums blend with raisins and almonds in fine dark chocolate. Tobacco, leather, oak spice, and cinnamon give way to oranges and caramel.
• Finish: The finish is long-lasting with plenty of fruit, cream candies, and beautiful wood notes.

Distillery/Bottler: The Lochlea Distillery is known for its artisanal whisky production and emphasizes complete traceability from field to bottle, as it grows its own grain. Master Blender John Campbell leads the distillery and brings his experience to create high-quality whisky. The bottling is done by the distillery itself, which underscores the authenticity and origin of the product.
