Special features: The Lochlea Distillery 2018/2025 is a 7-year-old single malt whisky from Scotland, produced in the Lowlands region. It matures in seven hand-selected first-fill bourbon barrels, some of which are among the first casks filled at Lochlea. This bottling presents itself with an alcohol content of 50% and is undiluted as well as not chill-filtered. The whisky is offered in a gift packaging and is not smoky.
Tasting Notes:
- Nose: On the nose, intertwined, creamy-buttery notes combine with fruity facets of fresh apple compote.
- Palate: On the palate, the whisky is full-bodied and creamy, with tropical fruit notes, a hint of apple, and integrated oak.
- Finish: The finish reveals buttery notes, with butter cookies, grain notes, spices, and juicy green apple slices along with delicate vanilla.
Distillery/Bottler: The Lochlea Distillery is an independent farm distillery in the Scottish Lowlands that has been producing single malt Scotch whisky since 2018. The distillery exclusively uses homegrown barley from historic fields that were already cultivated by Robert Burns in the 18th century. This bottling comes from the 2025 edition and reflects the philosophy and craftsmanship of the Lochlea Distillery.
