Distilled on 10 December 1968, this Longmorn matured entirely in first-fill Sherry Butt 5833 for 56 years. George Urquhart filled the cask with the whisky in 1968; on 3 October 2025, Gordon & MacPhail bottled it at a cask strength of 54.3%, yielding a total of 200 bottles.

The bottling belongs to the Connoisseurs Choice Heritage Range and revives the black label that distinguished the range in its early years.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose initially presents beeswax, followed by sweet mandarin, dark cherries and stewed raisins. Red apple, dark sugar syrup and anise mingle with warm spices.
• Palate: The whisky feels smooth on the palate and opens with sweet dried tobacco, followed by orange marmalade, dark chocolate and a hint of roasted coffee beans. Walnut and dried fig give way to liquorice and mature oak.
• Finish: The full, long finish combines cigar box with delicate hints of citrus and pepper.

Longmorn is a Speyside distillery whose malts are prized for their richness, versatility and pronounced fruitiness. Its whisky is bottled as a single malt and is also used in blends.

For four generations, Gordon & MacPhail has worked with spirits from more than 100 Scottish distilleries and with casks selected specifically for maturation. George Urquhart founded Connoisseurs Choice in 1968 to make single malts from distilleries that were then rarely available under their own names accessible to whisky drinkers. For this bottling, the spirit came from Longmorn, while Gordon & MacPhail oversaw the entire cask maturation and subsequent bottling.
