Special Features:

This 15-year-old expression from the Colour Collection matured predominantly in American oak casks, complemented by a smaller proportion of European oak. All the casks were seasoned with sherry in Jerez de la Frontera.

The cask selection combines creamy vanilla and orange with toasted oak, ginger and ripe stone fruit. The whisky derives its rich beechwood colour solely from the interaction between the spirit and the oak casks, without the use of colouring.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose reveals gentle oak, vanilla toffee, candied orange peel and crystallised ginger.
• Palate: On the palate, sweet citrus pastry and creamy vanilla custard meet baked peach.
• Finish: The medium-length finish combines toasted oak, citrus and cinnamon.

Distillery/Bottler:

The 15-year-old expression is a distillery bottling from The Macallan Distillery. Alexander Reid founded the distillery in 1824 on the Easter Elchies Estate in Speyside. His preference for small stills established a way of working that remains part of the distillery’s identity today.

The Colour Collection was created for international travel retail and places the whiskies’ natural colour and the influence of sherry-seasoned oak casks at its heart. David Carson designed the packaging as collages of warm colours, shapes and textures inspired by Jerez de la Frontera.
