The Macallan Double Cask 15 Years Old matures for at least 15 years in sherry-seasoned casks made from American and European oak. The American oak contributes vanilla, butterscotch and a light sweetness, while the European oak adds dried fruit and gentle spices. The whisky is bottled at 43% with entirely natural colour.

The combination of casks creates a clearly defined sensory profile: dried fruit, butterscotch, baked apple, chocolate and soft oak notes shape the nose. On the palate, raisins and sultanas mingle with cinnamon, nutmeg and creamy vanilla, followed by a medium-length finish of oak and spices.

Distillery/Bottler:

The Macallan Distillery produces this official bottling in Speyside. The American and European oak casks are made in Jerez and seasoned with sherry. They are then transported to Speyside, where they are filled with Macallan new make spirit. By deliberately combining the two types of oak, the distillery brings together vanilla sweetness and butterscotch with dried fruit and gentle spice.
