Special features: This duo from Billy Walker combines two carefully crafted whiskies from the MacNairs Lum Reek series, crafted as blended malts with single malts from GlenAllachie. The 21-year-old whisky matured extensively in Spanish sherry casks, French oak, and virgin oak casks, while the 10-year-old Cask Strength version is made from select sherry, wine barriques, and virgin oak casks, delivering a powerful cask strength character. Both bottlings are non-chill-filtered and color-free, preserving their natural aromas.
Tasting Notes:
- Nose: The 21-year-old reveals subtle peat smoke, dark chocolate, runny honey, and vanilla custard. The 10-year-old bottling unfolds waves of smoke, heather honey, ginger, and aromas of cinnamon, syrup, and vanilla.
- Palate: The 21-year-old impresses with notes of aged leather, cedarwood, delicate peat, cocoa, vanilla beans, and sweet spices. The 10-year-old impresses with rich dark chocolate, ginger, citrus fruits, as well as smoked spices, plantains, and tannins.
