Additionally, it is characterized by cask strength and not chill-filtered, highlighting the special production methods.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose reveals aromas of apple jam, ripe apricot, and melon, underpinned by vanilla and mature oak. Caramel, raisin bread, and baking notes, accompanied by light smoke and spices, round off the complex aroma.
• Palate: On the palate, sweet raisins and maple syrup lead the way, followed by cinnamon, sweet chestnuts, chocolate, as well as roasted almonds and gentle oak spices. The whisky shows a medium to full body with a rounded, layered texture.
• Finish: The finish is medium-long and characterized by lingering sweet chestnuts, cocoa, and spices, accompanied by ripe fruits and gentle wood notes. It ends warm and clean.

Distillery/Bottler: The Mars Komagatake Distillery, part of Hombo Shuzo Co., Ltd., was founded in 1985 and is located at an altitude of 798 meters in the Japanese Alps. After a production pause from 1992 to 2011, the distillery will celebrate its 40th anniversary in 2025. The whisky matures in a combination of bourbon casks, sherry casks, and American white oak, contributing to the diversity of flavors.
