Meukow VS brings together rounded fruit notes and subtle woody tones. Blending different eaux-de-vie unites these two aspects in a smooth Cognac. Its aromatic range also includes almonds, candied orange and liquorice.

The miniature contains 0.05 litres at 40% alcohol and comes without gift packaging. VS stands for Very Special. After double distillation, the eaux-de-vie selected for Meukow’s Cognacs mature in oak casks for at least two years. The small format offers a way to discover the house style neat or try the Cognac in a drink with tonic or ginger beer.

Distillery/Bottler:

Meukow’s history began with the brothers Auguste-Christophe and Gustav Meukow from Silesia, who travelled to France in 1850 to source eaux-de-vie. After several trips, they established their trading house in the town of Cognac on 1 August 1862. Since 1979, Meukow has belonged to the independent, family-run Compagnie de Guyenne, founded by Michel Coste in 1969. The panther motif also originated with him: in 1993, he introduced the Félin bottle adorned with it.

Cellar master Anne Sarteaux shapes the house style by selecting and blending eaux-de-vie of different ages. After the wines have been distilled twice, she oversees the maturation of the resulting spirits in dark, humid cellars. For the house’s Cognacs, she combines the floral qualities of Grande Champagne and Petite Champagne in particular with fruity and woody impressions from Fins Bois, Bons Bois and Borderies. The interplay between the individual spirits is crucial, rather than their age alone.
